World Market Center
The World Market Center in downtown Las Vegas is currently five million square feet of show room space for the home and hospitality contract furnishings industry, and it is situated on fifty seven acres.
People who are interior designers, furniture buyers, and retail sellers worldwide attend a semiannual furniture trade show held once in the winter and once in the summer, all within the complex of the World Market Center. When not hosting these shows, the permanent showrooms in Building A and C, are open year round for interior designers and other people in the design industry. The permanent showrooms in Building C are known as the Las Vegas Design Center.
Currently there are three buildings, which were completed in three phases. Phase One aka Building A is ten stories with two hundred and thirty showrooms covering 1.3 million square feet, and opened in May 2005. Phase 2 aka Building B is sixteen stories with three hundred showrooms covering 1.6 million square feet. Phase 3 aka Building C is sixteen stories with four hundred showrooms covering 2.1 million square feet. Future plans for the World Market Center are for more expansion. With a total of five more buildings to be built, bringing the total to eight buildings, the World Market Center will cover twelve million square feet.
The World Market Center is one of the largest if not the largest complex of its kind in the world. It is a great venue to visit, just remember to bring your walking shoes, and the views from the upper floors of Las Vegas are incredible.
