NASCAR Hauler Parade 2009
The NASCAR Hauler Parade was held Feb 26, 2009, down the famous Las Vegas Strip.
Forty-eight NASCAR Haulers lined up just south of Russell Road in preparation for their five mile trek north down the famous Las Vegas Strip. From there the NASCAR Haulers turned onto Sahara and back onto Interstate 15, headed for the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the Shelby 427 on March 1. The NASCAR Hauler’s are seventy two feet long, and the trailer is fifty three feet long. Haulers have a fuel tank on each side of the truck that holds one hundred and fifty gallons, an important feature as Hauler’s get approximately 5.3 miles per gallon. The NASCAR Hauler’s are specific to a team and a driver, the truck and trailer will have the same logos and colors of the racecar they are transporting. The NASCAR Haulers were transporting the Sprint Cup cars and a backup car. Inside the hauler there is a kitchen, living area, and cabinets that hold every conceivable piece and part for the car from tiniest screws to a complete engine, all organized so that each piece can be found quickly when needed during race weekend The hauler’s could be considered a ‘home away from home,’ for the team. Roll on eighteen wheeler… Roll on!
