NFR 2012 Tie Down Roping
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association held the 54th Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, December 6 to 15, 2012 at the Thomas and Mack in Las Vegas.
Tie Down Roping was formerly known as calf roping, an event where the cowboy and his horse work together to catch a calf. The cowboy ropes the calf, dismounts, and runs down the rope to the calf. From there the cowboy will flank the calf, and tie three of the calf’s legs together with a short rope or ‘piggin string.’ The cowboy will throw his hands in the air to let the judge know he is done, the cowboy then remounts his horse.
We would like to thank the Thomas and Mack, the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association), the Cowboys and Cowgirls, the stock contractors, and the fans for their support of rodeo. Come join us for ten days of rides, the wrecks, and the unforgettable moments of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Let’s Ride!!
